Asthma / difficult breathing

Asthma / difficult breathing

Asthma / difficult breathing is a category in which you find devices that stimulate breathing.

What is asthma?

With asthma there is an inflammation of the airways that makes the airways of asthma patients more irritable than normal. The result is that the muscles in the wall of the airways contract through all kinds of stimuli. The mucous membrane on the inside of the airways swells due to the inflammation and produces more mucus. This causes a narrowing of the airways. Complaints may arise from shortness of breath with a wheezing, whistling breath and from coughing. The complaints mainly occur during the night and early in the morning.

With asthma, the narrowing of the airways is still reversible. This means that a patient does not always have symptoms. In the meantime, an asthma patient can even be completely free of complaints. If the underlying inflammation is not treated, a permanent narrowing of the airways may occur after a longer period of time.
