• Melolin is a sterile, highly absorbent cotton and acrylic pad with a perforated, ultra-thin polyester film that is heat bonded to the wound contact area
• Consists of three layers: a perforated film that does not stick to the wound (Melolin), a layer of cotton and hydrophilic acrylic fibers, a hydrophobic outer layer of polyester
• Indications:
- In case of operations and emergencies
- Clean and sutured wounds
- Abrasions and cuts
- Mild burns
• Non-adhesive perforated film: facilitates rapid drainage of the wound by allowing the exudate to pass through, protects the fleshy bud to which it does not adhere when removing the compress
• Layer of cotton and hydrophilic acrylic fibres: absorbs wound fluid and blood and protects against shocks
• Hydrophobic layer: protects the dressing from external contamination, easy to cut to size, high resistance, maintains its integrity even when cut, facilitates the flow of exudate through the dressing, reducing the frequency of renewal
