Sternshield - harness for the chest and sternum

Sternshield is a thoraxharness designed to provide total protection for the patient recovering from sternum surgery ( heart surgery or thoracicsurgery ). Thanks to the patented Double Action design , the harness functions in two ways:

• As an elastic harness, Sternshield provides constant , firm and comfortable support to the chest throughout the post-operative period. It ensures a safe, fast and easy recovery.
  
  
• As a non-elastic harness, Sternshield provides additionalprotection by preventing the chestfrommovingwhen the patient needs it. For example , laughing while coughing or during exertion .

Sternshield instantlychanges from a stretchy to a non-elastic harness when the patient pulls the specially designed handles together .

Sternshield was developed with extra attention to maximumease of use and comfort. That's why it's lightweight , fully customizable and easy to use (even unaided, see steps 1-4). Since Sternshield does not contain any hard parts, it does notrestrict the patient further .

Sternshield is made of the highestquality material that does not irritate the skin. For practical reasons, Sternshield is best worn over clothing (t-shirt). It is recommended to wear Sternshield 24/7 during the recovery period.

Washing instructions: Close the Velcro straps. Machine wash at 30°C or hand wash in lukewarm water and with a mild detergent. Let dry at room temperature.

Usage:

	Step 1 : Loosely fasten all 3 Velcro sections of your harness. (One on the base strap and one on each of the shoulder straps as well).
	Step 2 : Put on the harness in the same way as a T-shirt or a vest, placing the handles of the harness at the front of the chest.
	Step 3 : Adjust the base strap of the harness to fit properly.
	Step 4 : Adjust the two shoulder straps to fit properly. The harness should be placed at the top of the chest.
	Step 5 : Sternshield currently functions as an elastic harness and gives the chest a firm and comfortable support, which does not impede breathing and which can be adjusted via the base strap.
	Step 6 : When the handles are pulled together, it functions as a non-elastic harness, so that the chest can no longer move during coughing, mucus formation and exertion.
