Protac SenSit® (and Protac SenSit® Puff)

A specially designed seat/beanbag that stimulates the senses, envelops the body, improves body feeling and has a calming effect.

The Protac SenSit® was developed based on the theories of sensorimotor integration of occupational therapist and psychologist A. Jean Ayres. The point-by-point pressure of the plastic balls in the seat stimulates both the sense of touch and the sensory cells in the muscles and joints. The sensory stimuli send signals to the central nervous system. The processing of these stimuli provides a soothing feeling, calming down and a better body feeling.

The Protac SenSit® is a specially designed seat/beanbag. It is constructed with a hardboard back so that it can be used as a seat. The seat and back are filled with the plastic balls. Unique side wings are attached to the seat with which you can enclose the body. The side wings are also filled with the plastic balls. The seat of the SenSit®, which can be zipped off, is covered with incontinence material at the bottom.

• Rest and concentration

Children and adults with concentration problems benefit from the SenSit®. The weight of the side and neck wings provide a sense of security that allows the user to concentrate, relax longer and thus become part of the social gathering. Many use the SenSit® when they do homework, work on the computer or need to concentrate in other ways.

• Better resting position

The Protac SenSit® is a good addition for wheelchair users. The SenSit® is particularly stable and forms to the body due to the flexibility of the balls. You can even be placed in the SenSit® from the wheelchair with a hoist. It provides a good resting posture and also reduces any spasticity.

• Designed for the individual environment

The design is youthful and fresh and fits in the homely atmosphere, at school, in nurseries, nursing wards and institutions. The SenSit® is available with covers in different qualities and colours. The Standard cover is fire retardant and can be cleaned in the washing machine.
The SenSit® is available in two heights for persons taller or shorter than approx. 180 cm.

Protac has now also developed a 'frame' to use in combination with the SenSit. The frame makes it easier to sit and get up.

A few features:

• the frame is 17 cm high at the back, so that the SenSit ball seat slopes slightly forward, making it easier for the user to sit down or stand up on his own;
• the handles on the left and right provide more stability for the user;
• Thanks to the wheels at the back, the SenSit can be moved easily.
