Sitting aid to improve sitting posture and concentration - ball cushions
Protac Ball Cushion™ - Ball cushion
An aid for improving sitting posture and concentration.
A Ball Cushion™ ensures a dynamic sitting position and good balance training. The pillow was developed based on the theory of sensory integration. When you sit on a Ball Cushion™, you will move outside your body's center of gravity due to the mobility of the balls. The body will automatically sense this and give a signal to shift the body weight and thus maintain and restore balance. This stimulates, among other things, the back and abdominal muscles, which give the impulse to sit up straight.
- Protac Ball Cushion™ strengthens balance and sensitivity.
A Ball Cushion™ is used to train balance and sensitivity. The dynamic sitting position ensures that you continuously train your balance while sitting and stabilize the muscles around the abdomen, back and pelvis. The pressure of the balls on the gluteal muscles ensures that you feel the seat better, which increases the tension in the postural muscles. This gives you a dynamic sitting position and can reduce any back problems.
- Dynamic sitting position ensures a better learning process.
Many children benefit from sitting on a Ball Cushion™. This is especially true for children who have restless motor skills and for children who have problems concentrating and learning. A Ball Cushion™ is generally recommended for school children. It encourages an upright and dynamic sitting position, which makes concentration and learning easier.
- Different types of Ball Cushions™
The Ball Cushions™ are available with 38mm or 25mm plastic balls. They are made in four different chair sizes; a regular or school chair, a Tripp Trapp chair, a children's (nursery) chair and a stool. The cushions consist of one compartment. A cushion is also available for the regular or school chair, which is divided into four compartments.
- The difference between 38mm and 25mm balls
A Ball Cushion™ with 38 mm balls provides more movement and greater point-by-point stimulation on the buttocks. This creates a stronger stimulation of the senses. The 25 mm balls cause less movement and therefore smaller point-by-point stimulation on the buttocks. This creates a less strong stimulation. The small balls have a larger seat, which is more comfortable for the user who is skinny, slim or hypersensitive.
- Why a division into subjects?
The cushion for the regular or school chair, divided into 4 compartments, limits the mobility of the balls so that the seat becomes more stable. This can be an advantage for users with balance problems.
The Protac Ball Cushion™ is used, among other things, for:
- ADHD
- Concentration problems

- Low tension in the postural muscles
